Cultural Adventures
Kayaköy/Levissi – Explore the intriguing story of Kayaköy. The result of the population exchanges between Greece and Turkey in 1923, Kayaköy, once a bustling town and home to hundreds of Greek Orthodox families was abandoned and remains so to this day. Now an open-air museum, you can explore hundreds of abandoned homes, as well as churches, chapels and schools.
Üzümlü – Located in a high valley, traditional village living is still very much the way in Üzümlü. Once famous for its grapes and their by-products, Üzümlü is now better known for its hand woven fabrics, made and sold by women from their homes. However, a palatable home produced wine can be purchased at a reasonable price. If you are keen to get on your walking shoes, a trek up to the ancient Lycian city Cadianda is a must. This summit is also a great place for taking photos of surrounding mountain ranges.
